Learn about Carnival and make an exciting costume for Forres Scottish Week Procession, 16 June

On this course participants will learn a brief history of carnival, design and make their very own carnival costume to wear on Forres High Street for the Opening Parade of Scottish Week on Saturday 16th June.

The main elements of the costume consist of a headdress, a tabbard or dress and other accessories. We will experiment with construction and different fabrics and materials. As well as their own costume, participants can help to build a life size horse and chariot built on a back pack which will be the main costume leading the Ancient Greek, ‘Masters and Champions’ section of the Carnival Parade. Come and stun everyone with your unique creativity! Bring your friends and family too. Let’s make the opening of Scottish Week 2012 a Carnival to remember – after all, there’s a lot to celebrate!
