For nearly 20 years the Moray Art Centre has offered an annual programme of local and international exhibitions and events alongside a full programme of classes and weekend workshops for all levels. Each year during July and August the centre hosts a vibrant summer school taught by award winning artists and tutors and attracting both local art enthusiasts and international visitors.

After the worldwide challenges of 2020, we entered into a new phase of our evolution by selling and sharing the centre building with Ekopia Social Investments Limited. MAC can now continue to run our many in-person and online classes, workshops and Summer School while exhibiting work in the beautiful gallery spaces. We hope to make art accessible to all people in Moray and focus on exploring the beauty of life through creativity, art and community.

Ekopia will manage the art studios and convert the rest of the building into a fun and welcoming community arts café with an outdoor, sheltered space.

Now dynamic and unbound, MAC is a vibrant and motivating organisation that allows people to meet, discuss and generate a community of creativity. Our spaces provide a relaxing, artistic environment that foster enjoyment, creativity and education for all ages. MAC has a serene and accommodating main gallery, shared exhibiting areas and two teaching spaces.

Our Manifesto

Moray Art Centre will make art accessible to all people in Moray and focus on exploring the beauty of life through creativity, art and community.

  1. We provide online and in-person spaces in which people can share creative ideas in a safe and supportive manner

  2. We provide a springboard for young artists to earn practical skills, explore their talent and sell their work

  3. No artistic media is considered over others - theatre, sculpture, music, movement, painting and more - all are welcome

  4. We recognise and celebrate the rich local culture throughout Moray and the North of Scotland

  5. We champion local artists and their talents

  6. We engage with local and national organisations to ensure that there are no social barriers to art and creativity in Moray
