Summer School Support Coordinator Job Description

Days: Thursday and Friday
Time: 9 am – 5/5:30 pm (this may vary depending on the tutor’s needs each week)
Start Date: 23rd June 2022
End Date: 2nd September 2022
P/hr: £10

About Moray Art Centre:
For nearly 20 years the Moray Art Centre has offered an annual programme of local and international exhibitions and events alongside a full programme of classes and weekend workshops for all levels.
During the summer months of June to September, the centre runs 5 -Day workshops (9:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday). Each week being tutored by a different artist who specialises in their own genre/skill set.
We are looking for someone to support our Summer School tutors and participants from 29 June until 2 September
While artistic talent is always welcome at MAC we are specifically seeking a person with organisational and problem-solving skills and a compassionate nature. This position would suit a collaborative person who easily talks with and listens to people’s needs while able to plan and manage a schedule.
The Summer School Support is required on Thursdays and Fridays 09:00 - 17:00 (workshops run 09:30 - 16:30 each day). The position will be supported by MAC’s Board and our Artist Convenor. Leah, shall provide training and will work Monday - Wednesday of each course.
Tasks would include:

Supporting students

“Meeting and greeting”

Providing coffee, tea, etc for all three breaks. Times will be set out by tutors.

Buy milk from Phoenix shop in the morning (including oat milk if required)

Liaison with caterer for lunches: time and location
-
Hand out lunches and help clear away.

Preparing classrooms

Arranging easels and desks
-
Arranging place for model if appropriate

Laying out materials as requested by the tutor

Tutor Support

Material shortages may necessitate a trip to Moray Office Supplies

Report problems to Board ASAP

Initial point of contact with tutor.

Opening the building in the morning and locking up after classes.
