Please forward your CV with a cover email as to why you are suited and what you can bring to this role to lucy@morayartcentre.org before 7th November 2022. Candidates chosen for interview will be contacted via email before 10 November 2022 and invited to interview via Zoom the week commencing 14 November 2022.
For nearly 20 years the Moray Art Centre (MAC), based in Findhorn, has offered an annual programme of local and international exhibitions and events alongside a full programme of classes and weekend workshops for all levels.
We are looking for someone creative with ideas on how we can attract as many people as possible to Moray Art Centre - for workshops, events, exhibitions and more.
You will take ownership of our socials and other promotional outlets including press, partnership working, physical and digital presence, and events. You will be responsible for growing our Facebook and Instagram channels by creating original, engaging content that highlights the key messaging of the brand.
To complement this, you'll develop a marketing strategy designed to drive excitement and exposure of MAC. We have a lot of products (workshops, events, exhibitions, space hire, partnerships, etc.) and need to get them in front of the right people to maximise revenue-raising in order to support our charitable endeavours and become financially sustainable.
You will work with MAC’s Artist Convenor and Marketing Support Officer to keep MAC’s website up to date and in line with current branding and track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and ensure they remain within the allocated budget. You will work with your colleagues and the Board to ensure campaigns are delivered within budgets and timeframes.
The role has huge potential for growth. Being our first marketing hire, you will play a critical role in developing our marketing approach and have a huge impact on growing the business.
Who we’re looking for:
You'll have 1-2 years of marketing/social experience in the creative industries. You'll be a creative, out of the box thinker who is organised, understands the core brand message and is willing to grow.
This position would suit someone looking for flexible working hours and location - you will not be expected to be based at MAC. Perhaps an artist with marketing experience who would like to supplement their creative income by working with a dynamic and reinvigorated art charity!
Desirable knowledge, understanding and experience:
-
Strong understanding of the social landscape; understand trends.
-
Able to embed MAC within the local community and the national arts conversation.
-
Autonomous and self-starting.
-
Use of creative platforms and evidence of digital skills (Photoshop/Canva).
-
Experience editing video/curating social posts.
-
Passionate about all things marketing!
-
Excellent people skills - Comfortable in front of anyone
Moray Art Centre’s Manifesto and Purpose
After the worldwide challenges of 2020, we entered into a new phase of our evolution by selling and sharing the centre building with Ekopia Social Investments Limited. MAC can now continue to run our many in-person and online classes, workshops and Summer School while exhibiting work in the beautiful gallery spaces. We hope to make art accessible to all people in Moray and focus on exploring the beauty of life through creativity, art and community.
Now dynamic and unbound, MAC is a vibrant and motivating organisation that allows people to meet, discuss and generate a community of creativity. We use grant funding and revenue from workshops to build our programme of subsidised and free arts workshops and events with the aim to make art accessible to all and to allow everyone to experience the mental health benefits of creativity. MAC needs to capitalise fully on revenue-raising courses and workshops and for that we need a marketing coordinator to take MAC to all corners of the local and national communities.
Moray Art Centre will make art accessible to all people in Moray and focus on exploring the beauty of life through creativity, art and community.
