12 Week Studio Practice Course
Every Thursday from 10am to 2pm at the Moray Art Centre
Kenneth Le Riche RSW
7th September to 7th December 2023 (half term holiday 12th and 19th Oct.)
This 12-week course on Thursdays invites individuals who are already creating their own work to develop and expand their art practice under the guidance of experienced tutor and practicing artist, Kenneth Le Riche.
This is a practical course that will be structured around participants continuing their own work whether that be drawing, painting, and/or mixed media. There will be individual tutorials which aim to identify the essence and direction of each participant’s practice and devise strategies to take it forward. The course will provide participants with critical feedback on their work, introduce new practical skills and advice on how to push their work further. Ideas and aesthetics will be explored while developing elements of composition such as line, tone and colour. New materials and methods will be introduced and the course can also advise on developing an art school portfolio if requested, whether for graduate or postgraduate study. There will be seminars and PowerPoint presentations relevant to the participants’ work. The course will conclude with an exhibition at the Moray Art Centre.
A range of core materials is provided; including pencils, graphite sticks, willow charcoal, compressed charcoal, chalk, ink, pastels, acrylic paints, oil paints, solvents, binders, pigments, and paper. Easels and drawing boards are also provided. Participants may wish to bring any additional materials of their choice.
Refreshments and snack lunch included.
