10:30 - 4:30 All materials included Do you feel stuck, sad, judgemental or angry about your creative expression? Perhaps you feel all of this. Take heart and come to Flow without Fear and be truly encouraged. Acknowledging our fears and disappointment in ourselves is the backdrop to making free with lovely water-based paint, charcoal, ink, pastel, pencil and even collage. It's astonishing what can appear when we trust what is ready to appear from our unconscious mind. In this winter session, we make gorgeous, joyful marks, mixing media and seeing what happens when we lose our wish for perfection. We will be inspired by found interior objects such as patterned fabrics, flowers, ceramics and art books, seeing how we use our expressive marks to create this interior landscape. My tutoring approach is to react to you all individually, just as you are in your own creative expression, in that moment on that day. I don't have any expectations, therefore no judgement, just encouragement. I know from experience it’s all about empowering you to express your own unique qualities. About Iona: An experienced art tutor of more than 10 years, I work with people of all ages and stages, from young children to older adults, many of whom feel grief and anxiety about repressing their innate creativity. I love to assist in the freeing of this creativity within. I combine my own self-employed working artist practice with teaching and leading out what is profound within us all. I am a trained therapeutic counsellor which means I extend empathy and compassion to those bravely showing their vulnerability. I know how it feels! I was the first artist in residence at Stirling Castle for Historic Environment Scotland and exhibited with several commercial galleries. PLEASE NOTE: All of our workshops require a minimum number of participants for them to run. Workshops may need to be canceled or postponed if the numbers are not met. Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but please bring along your own packed lunch.

Our Cancellation Policy

Cancellation: Moray Art Centre (MAC) reserves the right to cancel courses if the circumstances dictate. If this occurs, you will be offered an alternative course or a full refund of your course fees. If MAC has to cancel any courses due to covid infection of the tutor (either during a course or immediately prior to a course/workshop) we will refund 100% of your fees. If you have to cancel less than six weeks before the start of the workshop/course/taster, please see refund structure below; Amount of cancellation charges: Weekend courses, Day Workshops and Taster Sessions Up to 6 weeks before 10% (90% of fees refunded) Up to 5 weeks before 30% (70% of fees refunded) Up to 4 weeks before 50% (50% of fees refunded) Up to 2 weeks before 80% (20% of fees refunded) Up to 1 week before 90% (10% of fees refunded) Less than 7 days before 100% (0% of fees refunded) If you have to cancel less than twelve weeks before the start of the course, please see refund structure below; Amount of cancellation charges: Summer School courses, 3-day courses, 4-day courses Up to 12 weeks before 10% (90% of fees refunded) Up to 8 weeks before 30% (70% of fees refunded) Up to 4 weeks before 50% (50% of fees refunded) Up to 2 weeks before 90% (10% of fees refunded) Less than 14 days before 100% (0% of fees refunded) Although we do not foresee any issues, for Summer School courses you may want to consider taking out holiday insurance in case we have to cancel your course or in case you are unable to attend due to a Covid infection.
