Learn how to make prints from your kitchen table using household materials and recycled packaging. About this event 2- Day weekend course Saturday & Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm Explore various techniques including dry point, intaglio, collagraph and litho printing with the aid of a small portable craft press. Using recycled packaging and small portable craft presses we will explore printmaking techniques that can be achieved from your kitchen table. The course will look at different types of prints that can be created using plastic and cardboard packaging, tinfoil and tetra packs as plates. Day one: will look at basic printmaking techniques, the creation of dry point, tetra pack and collograph plates followed by some printing. Day two: we will explore kitchen litho techniques and focus on producing kitchen litho and collograph prints to take home. Who is this course for? Anyone with an interest in printmaking or interested in finding fun and creative ways to recycle. About Claire: Claire Macdonald is based in the Cairngorm National Park. The rhythms and rituals of daily life that support our wellbeing inspire her practice. Claire highlights the relationship between micro and macro with small-scale studio pieces often informing larger scale public projects. She works in a diverse range of media from printmaking, felt making and scale model making to large-scale painting and public installation works. Her background is in theatre design and production crafts, community arts and education. Claire has worked with communities and organisations for over 20 years creating arts projects across the Highlands and internationally. In 2019 she graduated from UHI with a first class honours degree in Contemporary Art and Contextualised Practice. Additional Information: Payments can be made simply and easily using this website.
