Service Description
An exploration of basic watercolour techniques with a floral focus. 'There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose because before he paints it he must first forget all the roses that were ever painted' - Henri Matisse 10:30 - 1:30 All materials included Are you ready to see your watercolour practice flourish and your floral art to bloom? If you answered with a resounding YES, then join Watercolour Floral Focus, a three-hour taster session, which will cover essential tips on the basic techniques you need for painting flowers. The course will include a supplies list and overview of materials, a demonstration, of how to paint a value chart, types of brush holds and strokes for painting flowers and leaves, and wet in wet/dry brush techniques. You will try painting loose watercolour roses and other flowers, and create an experimental floral piece using skills learned. I focus particularly on teaching beginners basic watercolour techniques, so learners can thrive in their creative work, relax and create with ease, ‘Watercolour should bring joy, not stress’ is my motto! However, more advanced artists are very welcome and will also benefit from the knowledge shared. About Lucy: I’m Lucy, a creative based in Moray and I have a lifelong passion for Art and Design. At school Art (particularly painting) and Textiles were my favourite subjects. After completing an Art Foundation Course I went in to study Textile Design (BA Hons Textile Design, Nottingham Trent University). Recently, I had the opportunity to really focus in on my passion for Watercolour painting. I refreshed my skills via classes online and joined artists' communities. I developed a daily Watercolour practice and found it so satisfying to paint both floral pieces and landscapes/seascapes. My work began to flourish and I began selling my art online and locally. I started sharing my knowledge by leading a couple of workshops in my local area and I love sharing what I’ve learned! PLEASE NOTE: All of our workshops require a minimum number of participants for them to run. Workshops may need to be canceled or postponed if numbers are not met.
