Come and join Anna for this exciting 6 week block exploring different techniques to create your own pieces of artwork. Thursday evenings 4pm – 5:45pm Starting April 28th April 5th May 12th May 19th May 26th May Finishing 2nd June This 6 week block of art classes offers children from 9-12 years the exciting opportunity to engage with a wide variety of mediums, from the humble pencil to charcoal, chalk pastels, acrylic paint, and printmaking. All materials will be provided, and healthy snacks offered to children throughout the 1 hour, 45 minute session. We will explore work by many artists, and use this as a source of inspiration for that classes’ artwork. Children will be taught a range of techniques, and take part in many fun activities practising what they have learnt. Through art-related discussion children will have the chance to get to know others on the course, build new friendships, and learn more about themselves. Everyone will be given a small sketchbook at the beginning of the course and shown examples of how a sketchbook can be used. This will be theirs to keep and use throughout the weeks and will be a memento to be taken home (and continued!?) at the end of the block. A simple exhibition will be on display on the last day, to which family members and friends are invited. Old clothes/smocks are vital as sessions can be messy! Come and join in! About Anna: Anna has a BA(Hons) in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art, with Ceramics as her second subject. She gained a place on the Erasmus Exchange Scheme spending half a year at Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece where she focused on printmaking. Subsequently she taught evening classes at Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. With a background in Primary Teaching Anna has always had a love of teaching and is excited to share her passions and skills with those in her classes.
